Navjot Singh Sidhu Congratulates Indian Air Forces for Successfully Completing a Strike on Pakistan

Former Indian National Cricket team player and current Congress MP Navjot Singh Sidhu congratulated Indian Air Force after they destroyed terror camps across the Line of Control before dawn on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Sidhu received a lot of flak for his comments in the wake of the Pulwama terror attack. He said that for a handful of people an entire nation cannot be a terrorist nation. Post his comments, the netizens demanded his ouster from The Kapil Sharma Show and the channel scrapped his contract.

However, today morning, Pakistan had claimed that Indian Air Force aircraft had violated the Line of Control in the Muzaffarabad sector. Pakistan claimed that the aircraft returned after its Air Force immediately scrambled, and they had dropped payload in haste while escaping. But the location of the strikes is unclear, and there is no official word from India yet.

Navjot Singh Sidhu took to Twitter to congratulate the Indian Air Force for successfully completing their attack. He also added that it is imperative to finish terrorism.

Meanwhile, the recent Pulwama Terror attack has created a stir countrywide as a Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) rammed an explosives-laden car into a CRPF bus, killing at least 40 personnel and leaving many critically wounded. On the back of it, India have cut several ties with the neighbouring country. Veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has called for a boycott of Pakistan match to show their protest. On the other hand, Chetan Chauhan wants India to put pressure on ICC threatening to boycott the whole event.

Kapil Dev Believes India Shouldn’t Boycott The Pakistan Match In The Upcoming World Cup

The former World Cup-winning Indian captain Kapil Dev strongly believes that India shouldn’t boycott their upcoming World Cup match against Pakistan.

In the wake of Pulwama terror attack, where more than 40 Indian soldiers lost their lives, many Indians have asked to boycott Pakistan match in the upcoming World Cup. England and Wales will host the from 30 May to 14 July. According to the World Cup schedule, India and Pakistan will meet on 16 June at Old Trafford (Manchester).

However, many Indians have opposed this high-profile match to protest against the Pulwama terror attack. Some former and senior most Indian cricketers have also given the same opinion to boycott that game. and are some of those cricketers who support to boycott the Pakistan match in the upcoming World Cup.

On the other hand,, etc. are some of those cricketers who don’t want to give up any points easily to Pakistan. While India has the best World Cup record against Pakistan, they believe that India must play that game and earn two points.

Now, Kapil Dev has given his opinion on this matter. The 1983 World Cup-winning captain believes that the international event shouldn’t boycott for any political reason.

Kapil Dev told ABP NEWS Shikhar Sammelan 2019, “World Cup is not about India-Pakistan relations only. It is an international event and we should not talk about boycotting an international event because of Pakistan’s PM or anything else.

“We are ready to do everything. Then no one speaks of a boycott but why single out cricket or sport every time?”

Sportspersons should never be asked not to play

The Indian cricket family has divided in their opinions to play or not to play against Pakistan in the upcoming World Cup. Kapil Dev feels that it is their personal opinion, but a cricketer should not indulge in any political comments.

He added, “It is their personal opinion. I have nothing to say on this and I believe, a cricketer should not indulge in any political comments. Sachin, Sourav are like my brothers, so I won’t be able to take sides.

“Sportspersons should never be asked not to play. Being a cricketer myself, I know how that might feel. Playing is the only thing we know and that’s what it should be.”

ICC should take a call on whether to ban Pakistan or not

The hasn’t taken their final decision yet on this matter. Meanwhile, the SC-appointed chief believes that the BCCI should write a letter to the to ban Pakistan from the upcoming World Cup.

Talking about these matters, Kapil Dev said, “I don’t hold any position to make an official comment on the issue. We all should accept what the Indian government and BCCI decides.

“ICC should take a call on whether to ban Pakistan or not. I would only say that cricket should not be hampered in any way.”

India will begin their World Cup journey on 5 June against at Southampton. The Indian national cricket team have won the tournament twice.

New Role For Smriti Mandhana: Cricketer Appointed T20I Captain

New Role For Smriti Mandhana: Cricketer Appointed T20I Captain

Top cricketer Smriti Mandhana is prepping to make her international captaincy debut during the India vs England T20I that follows the ongoing series of ICC Women’s Championship ODIs. Mandhana has been appointed skipper after Harmanpreet Kaur, the designated T20I captain, took a break from the series because of an ankle injury.

The 22-year-old batswoman has played 106 games for India till now, including 55 in the shortest format

She had earlier captained for the domestic circuit, which include leading her state side Maharashtra, West Zone, and India Blue to the Challenger Trophy title in January 2018. More recently, she led the Board President’s XI against England squad in a warm-up game at Wankhede Stadium.

This is turning out to be a great year for Mandhana. She made it to the ‘Forbes India 30 Under 30’ list, India’s sixth edition featuring 30 young achievers in various fields like, sports, entertainment, marketing, entrepreneurship, etc. She has also moved up three spots to attain the number one rank in the updated ICC ODI batting rankings. Her recent stint was scoring her fourth ODI century and an unbeaten 90 in the three-match series against New Zealand.

With her extraordinary run-scoring season, Smriti Mandhana is one cricketer who has steadily made a mark in women’s cricket. The batswoman is the first Indian to feature in England’s flagship T20 tournament for women. She scored an unbeaten 52 off 19 balls against Loughborough Lightning, creating a new record.

Mandhana is only the second Indian woman to win an International Cricket Council award, fast bowler Jhulan Goswami being the first one who was named as women’s player of the year in 2007

On her debut, Mandhana almost pulled off the fastest 50 in KSL’s history. She smashed as many as five sixes and three boundaries in that innings. In March last year, she smashed the fastest 50 ever scored by any Indian player in women’s T20I cricket. She achieved this in the opening innings against England in the third match of the women’s T20 tri-series at Brabourne Stadium.

Meanwhile, Veda Krishnamurthy, the middle-order batsman who missed out on the tour of New Zealand after poor returns at the World T20, came back in full swing this time. Left-arm fast bowler Komal Zanzad replaced Mansi Joshi, while the batting pair of Priya Punia and D Hemalatha were left out in favour of Harleen Deol and Bharati Fulmali.

Congrats to the feisty cricketer!

Russia ready to supply Su-57 5th-Gen Fighter Jets to India

Russia ready to supply Su-57 5th-Gen Fighter Jets to India

Russia is ready to hold a dialogue with India on the deliveries of Sukhoi Su-57 fifth-generation fighter jets to India, Director for International Cooperation and Regional Policy at the state hi-tech corporation Rostec Viktor Kladov said.

“On our part, we are ready to continue the deliveries of generation 4+ and 4++ planes and for the work on the delivery of fifth-generation aircraft. At the same time, Russia’s Air Force is a top priority for us. The plane [the latest Su-57 fifth-generation fighter jet has been tested in combat conditions in Syria and its deliveries to the Russian troops have begun,” the Rostec official said.

India displays interest in the Su-57 but the country needs to shape its further concept of the Air Force, Kladov said.

“The Indian Air Force should determine how much this plane fits into their general concept, what their focus should be and on what money should be spent – on acquiring several models of the next-generation aircraft or on building up significantly the number of reliable Su-30MKI planes well known to Indian pilots,” the Rostec official said.

Deputy Director of Russia’s Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation Anatoly Punchuk said at the Aero India 2019 air show that India had filed a request for the delivery of 21 light MiG-29 fighter jets.

Russia earlier supplied over 200 Su-30MKI multirole fighter jets while the Kommersant daily reported in early February, citing the Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation, that India had filed a new request for aircraft sets to assemble these planes.

The Su-57 is a fifth-generation multirole fighter designed to destroy all types of air targets at long and short distances and hit enemy ground and naval targets, overcoming its air defense capabilities.

Navjot Singh Sidhu Reacts To India Air Force’s Strike In Pakistan

Former India batsman Navjot Singh Sidhu has reacted to the air strikes carried out by fighter jets of the Indian Air Force early morning on Tuesday.

India, on Tuesday, gave a fitting reply to Pakistan for their role in the Pulwama attack that had claimed the lives off 44 CRPF personnels. Pakistan-based militancy group Jaish-E-Mohammad had taken responsibility of the attack. India took less than two weeks to make Pakistan pay for their heinous act.

Combat jets of the Indian Air Force bombed terror camps at multiple locations across the Line of Control on the Pakistani side in a pre-dawn strike, 12 days after the Pulwama attack in Kashmir. Government sources said the Mirage 2000 fighter jets pounded JeM terror camps in Balakot, Muzaffarabad and Chakoti in the well-planned strike, destroying the camps. According to sources, 200 to 300 terrorists were killed in the strike by Indian Air Force. The cross-border air attack destroyed terrorist launchpads and Jaish-e-Mohammed control rooms, sources said.

On Tuesday, Foreign Secretary VK Gokhale said India carried out a non-military, pre-emptive strike on terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed in Pakistan.

“Credible intelligence was received that JeM was attempting another suicide terror attack in various parts of the country, and the fidayeen jihadis were being trained for this purpose. In the face of imminent danger, a pre-emptive strike became absolutely necessary,” Gokhale said.

The entire nation is lauding the Indian Air Force for their bravery and Navjot Singh Sidhu has also followed suit. The cricketer-turned-politician, who was recently slammed for his comment on the attack, took to Twitter to hail the Air Force, writing:

“In the war of right & wrong, You can not afford to be neutral, The war against terror outfits is spot on… Bravo Indian Air Force”

Recently, Sidhu risked the ire of the Indian public by giving out a diplomatic statement on the Pulwama attack. While the whole nation was calling for complete boycott of Pakistan, the cricketer-turned-politician defended them. He had said ‘terrorists do not have deen, mazhab (sect and religion)’ before stating that one couldn’t blame an entire nation for such attacks. He also called for a dialogue to find a permanent solution to end the bloodshed.
