Signs That Clearly Show You Have Sensitive Skin To Know

Signs That Clearly Show You Have Sensitive Skin To Know

Skin care is very important. And, if you experience skin irritation whenever you try a new beauty product, you probably have sensitive skin. But, wait! There’s nothing to worry about. And, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with having sensitive skin. It’s just that you need to be very careful and picky while choosing skin care products as not all products available in the market are suitable for sensitive skin type.Maintaining our skin these days is quite a difficult task with constant exposure to dust, dirt, and pollution. And, if you have sensitive skin, you ought to be really careful while dealing with these external factors that affect our skin.Speaking of sensitive skin, most people often have a doubt as to what exactly qualifies as sensitive skin. Here are some signs that clearly show you have sensitive skin.

1.Stings Or Burns: Whatever beauty products you use – be it a moisturiser, sunscreen, or a foundation, your skin tends to react to it in its own way, and sometimes, it won’t be a positive sign. Using some beauty products that contain excess chemicals can result in stings or burns, which are a clear sign of sensitive skin. This is very common with products like gels or creams, especially the ones containing alcohol.

2.Frequent Rashes Or Bumps: Have you ever woken up to find those annoying little bumps on your face? If you spot those tiny red bumps frequently, you might have sensitive skin. But why does this happen? Maybe because you fail to wash off your face properly with some cream or gel still remains. If you are using a new cream or a gel, it is always safe to test it on your forearm first and wait for a day or two to check if it results into any kind of rashes or bumps and then apply it on your face.

3.Redness Of Skin: This is a very common sign of sensitive skin. Even if your skin is slightly sensitive or experiencing any kind of inconvenience, it might result in red rashes or red bumps. Those who experience redness of the skin are advised to always go for all-natural or herbal skin care products that contain very less or no chemicals at all.

4.Itchy Skin: Itchy skin can sometimes be an indication that you have sensitive skin. This can happen when you keep on using products that are harsh for your skin. Excessive and prolonged use of chemical-based products can often lead to itchy skin, skin irritation, and sometimes it can also lead to skin infections. The only thing one needs to remember while dealing with itchy skin is that you should not scratch itchy skin as it will only aggravate your problem.

5.Breakouts: One of the most clear-cut signs that show your skin is sensitive are breakouts. What usually happens is that when your skin lacks moisture, it tends to produce excess oil to compensate for it. This sometimes results in clogged pores which in turn results in acne or pimple breakouts on your skin. At such times, people generally go for a face wash or a cream suitable for acne-prone skin. But what they often fail to understand is that it can sometimes worsen the situation rather than solving it. The best thing you can do for acne-prone sensitive skin is to keep washing it with clear water and give it time to heal naturally.

One thing people with sensitive skin should always remember is that you skin needs its own time to heal and show effects. The less products you use for sensitive skin, the more it will stay healthy. So, if you too have sensitive skin, go low on using products, be gentle with your skin, and stay beautiful.

Hero coats and leopard print pencil skirts: Saint Laurent’s party girls get daywear options

Hero coats and leopard print pencil skirts: Saint Laurent’s party girls get daywear options

Saint Laurent AW19

If I had been asked which design house might show the most desirable coats at Paris fashion week, Yves Saint Laurent would have been quite far towards the bottom of the list. Not because the label can’t make an excellent topper- there are some truly exquisite belted leather and wool crombie styles in the current commercial collection- but because the shows are usually all about glamazon party girls for whom one spangly layer is more than enough.

And so it was that two extreme wide-shouldered, exaggerated lapel, sharp-with-a-hint-of-slouch wool coats created the first big surprise of the week when they were worn in the first two looks of Saint Laurent’s autumn/winter 2019 show on Tuesday night. There was more in this new foray into showing clothes one might wear by day from creative director Anthony Vaccarello; slinky tailored trousers, zebra and leopard pencil skirts with tactile panels of feathers and beautiful high-waisted tiered leather midis- this is ‘day’ for the Saint Laurent woman, lest we forget.

The Eighties-influenced look drew on Saint Laurent’s ‘iconic muses’ Betty Catroux, Bianca Jagger and Catherine Denueve; Jagger and Deneuve, both in black and leopard print, were watching from the front row. Several models had the same blunt fringe, peroxide blonde hair as Catroux and many looks were imbued with the dark sophistication of the costumes which Yves Saint Laurent created for Deneuve’s 1983 film, The Hunger.

The party girl was not left disappointed, however. Sequinned micro-minis, feathered stiletto boots and tuxedo dresses (a reminder of the tale of socialite Nan Kempner attempting to get into New York restaurant Le Cote Basque in her YSL suit, being told trousers were not suitable attire and removing them so that all she had on was a blazer) were accessorised with beautiful embellished skullcaps. The traditional finale became a rave-like parade of glow-in-the-dark neons shown under strobe lighting and to a throbbing soundtrack; Saint Laurent in its natural habitat.

On Wednesday morning, Lanvin looked to emerge from a period in the fashion wilderness since the departure of previous creative director Alber Elbaz in 2015. Bruno Sialelli, whose appointment was announced in January, is the fourth incumbent to the post in as many years. At the thirteenth century Musee Cluny, Sialelli made a confident debut with a collection which drew on some of the signatures of founder Jeanne Lanvin in her early twentieth century heyday- the opening look, for example, was a cardigan/ dress hybrid in her beloved shade of pale blue.

Other highlights included low-heel knee boots with silky legs, diaphanous maxi dresses and sumptuous colour combinations. For patriotic Brits, a velvet evening gown embroidered with the scene of St George slaying the dragon. Whether medieval reenactment can woo a new tribe of devotees remains to be seen.

Holly Willoughby kicked off Monday morning with a bold and beautiful outfit for her presenting slot on This Morning. The bright blue and green outfit was a departure for Holly who is often seen in ditzy florals and more muted styles. The asymmetric green skirt skimmed over the star’s curves and was paired with a snuggly fitted roll neck in bright blue. The top hugged Holly’s enviable figure and was popular with her loyal Instagram following.

Holly’s outfit today celebrated the British high street as the This Morning presenter paired a Pure Collection cashmere roll neck with a John Lewis and Partners skirt.

The cashmere roll neck would set fans back £125 and comes in six colours, with Holly rocking the very pretty ‘Greek Blue’.

Holly’s skirt, from high street favourite John Lewis, is currently available for just £69. The stylish star finished her look with a white sling back from Kurt Geiger which can be snapped up by style stalkers for just £110.

While Holly is sometimes berated by fans for her pricey wardrobe choices, today’s entire look comes in at just over £300.

Holly had a busy weekend presenting skating show, Dancing on Ice.

The blonde bombshell dazzled on last nights episode in a racy thigh baring dress.

The Iris Serban gown showed off Holly’s incredible figure and toned legs.

The one shoulder deep purple gown thrilled fans, with many wanting to copy the look.

This is not the first time Holly has worn Iris Serban, clearly a fan of the designer Holly wore a frothy pink and black polka dot dress by the designer for the NTA’s earlier this year.

Holly regularly treats fans to behind the scenes snaps from her various presenting jobs.

Last night Holly posted a sweet snap of her daughter watching a rehearsal for Dancing on Ice.

Holly is careful to protect her children from the limelight only sharing pictures of them that obscure their faces.

The mum of three however clearly adores sharing her work with her family as they are regular shown to be by her side.

Holly also shared a gorgeous picture of herself with her mum this weekend, showing that family really is important to the star.

I Was Not Prepared For How Much Losing Our Family Dog Would Affect My Daughter

I Was Not Prepared For How Much Losing Our Family Dog Would Affect My Daughter

My third grader’s teacher agreed something was off with her. Thankfully, she was going to allow my daughter to retake the test she’d failed that week. The poor grade was completely out of character, and once I explained we had just lost the family dog, who had been with us since my daughter was born, her teacher said it all made sense. I felt grateful for the second chance, but I was also getting very concerned about how hard my daughter was taking this loss.

They’d grown up together. Lola was there for every major milestone in my daughter’s life, and the bond they formed was unbreakable.

I don’t think anyone in our family saw the passing coming. Our dog was like a cat, in that she seemed to have nine lives. Lola beat Lyme disease, kidney stones, and even got hit by a car once. Every time, our spunky beagle came back stronger than before. At the advanced age of 14, sure, she’d slowed down considerably, but Lola was still as persistent as ever when it came to stealing my daughter’s and her two sisters’ snacks, or following her nose off our property and into a neighbor’s yard. That’s why when we came home one evening to find Lola unable to walk, we all figured a trip to the vet the next day would restore her mobility. Sadly, we were wrong. After administering several tests, the vet gently suggested this might be the end of the road for our sweet Lola. Her liver was failing, her arthritis was so bad, and it was unlikely or impossible that she’d ever be able to walk again.

After Going Missing, This Black Lab Returned Home With 2 Very Unlikely Friends

Shocked, I looked into Lola’s eyes, and that’s when I saw she already knew how sick she was. Perhaps she’d been hiding it from us, and all of a sudden, it was time to say goodbye. We put Lola down that morning, and I cried nonstop for about 48 hours straight. I think I’d taken Lola’s passing so hard, I didn’t immediately notice how upset my oldest daughter was (her younger siblings were a bit too young to fully understand what was happening). Once my head cleared a bit, I saw she wasn’t shaking the loss off as I’d expected her to.

They’d grown up together. Lola was there for every major milestone in my daughter’s life, and the bond they formed was unbreakable. Lola comforted my daughter when she was upset, relished in her excitement over the smallest of things, and ran to her as soon as she got home from school every day. And even in recent years, when my daughter’s life revolved less around Lola and more around friends, school, and swim practice, they still loved each other. Lola had made a permanent imprint on my daughter’s heart, and after talking to her, it became clear she was feeling very sad and confused.

Cute Photos of Dogs Playing in the Snow That Will Almost Make You Want to Go Outside

I wish I knew all the answers about where pets go when they pass away, or why this was the time for Lola to leave us. All I could do was try my best to listen to my daughter’s concerns about what happened and share with her that I too was grieving. The nights were the worst. My daughter couldn’t stop crying and had trouble falling asleep. I’d lie with her until she calmed down and nodded off. Confiding in her teacher helped a lot, because my daughter also had an ally at school to help her deal with her feelings. At home, we continued to talk about Lola and cry — a lot.

I figured it would just take time for our family to get over the pain. But my husband had another idea. He suggested that we rescue a dog to fill the hole in our hearts. I felt reluctant to get another pet so soon, since I knew nobody could replace Lola. But once I saw how much the idea lifted my daughter’s spirits, I got on board. About a week later, we adopted another beagle named Bagel. The sadness I’d seen in my little girl was taken over with excitement by the new addition to our family. My husband and I explained that while Lola could never be replaced, we could make room in our hearts for a new dog, and my daughter understood.

50 Adorable Names For Your Dog in 2019

Now, years later, we still miss her tremendously, and have framed photos of her in our home so we can remember her soft ears, mischievous eyes, and beautiful spirit. My daughter shares funny stories from when Lola was with us, and it’s bittersweet to see how her grief has turned to loving memories of our first family pet.

The laptops that started appearing in the 80s aren’t the sleek, speedy, and power packed machines that they are today, but the 1989 Macintosh Portable was still novel for its time. It had a 16MHz Motorola CPU, 1 MB of RAM that could be expanded to 9 MB, and a 40 MB hard drive. The display on this model had a resolution of 640 by 400 and was monochrome, and inside was a lead acid battery that weighed two pounds. The cost for the Macintosh Portable was $6,500 when it debuted, which amounts to $12,500 today.

Lisa is a 1983 relic from Apple that was significant at the time, and not simply because it was named after Steve Jobs’ daughter. It was the first PC with a mouse that was meant to be marketed to the masses, and as far as old school computers went it was super user friendly. It had a 12 inch monochrome display, 1 MB of RAM, 5MHz Motorola CPU, and buyers had the option to get a 5 MB external hard drive. The astounding thing is that even though Apple’s Lisa was for the average user, it still cost $9,995, which equals nearly $24,000 today.

No matter what gaming systems come out purporting to be the latest and the greatest, PC gaming is still widely popular. 3D games have changed the way that computer manufacturers develop their products, and in 2013 Yoyotech unveiled a PC capable of playing any 3D game at 4K: the DNA Aurum 24K. For the price, you get a system with amazing graphic capabilities, and it also has a sophisticated cooling system to keep everything running smoothly. Obviously, this PC was meant for serious gamers willing to shell out thirteen grand rather than casual players.

If you’re looking at the price and wondering what type of incredible technology existed back in the mid-70s to warrant such an expensive price tag, know that the 1975 IBM Portable Computer cost what it did because it was the first “mini computer”. It wasn’t as portable as notebooks are today, but it was aimed at the scientific community, specifically researchers flush with grant money.

The self contained computer had a magnetic tape drive, 5 inch CRT display that could output 16 lines of text with 64 characters each, a cartridge tape hard drive capable of storing 204 KB, and a PALM circuit board processor. If you adjust its 1975 retail price for inflation, the IBM 5100 portable computer would cost about $88,000.

Fuell Electric Bikes Revealed

  • Fuell has revealed two products: an electric motorcycle and a bicycle.
  • The motorcycle is called Fuell Flow and is available in two variants: 11kW and 35kW.

  • Fluid deliveries to commence this year; Flow to reach customers starting 2021.
Fuell Electric Bikes Revealed

Buell Motorcycle Company is a brand known for its innovation. It pioneered interesting engineering concepts such as oil-in-frame, perimeter disc brakes and more. Its founder, Eric Buell, has partnered with motorsport baron Frédéric Vasseur and entrepreneur Francois-Xavier Terny to launch a new electric two-wheeler brand called Fuell.

Fuell has now revealed its first two products: a motorcycle called Flow and a bicycle which goes by the name Fluid. The Flow is available in two variants: 11kW (A1-compliant) and 35kW (A2-compliant) to suit riders of different skill levels. In terms of design, the Flow is rather simple yet elegant. The lines are clean, with the front-end featuring twin stacked projector lights and a small windscreen. The entire side portion of the bike is covered by a neatly-designed fairing, while the rear features a disc-like wheel mounted on a single-sided swingarm with an off-set monoshock. It also comes with a geeky TFT screen with various connectivity and security options.

What’s even more interesting is that the Flow gets a massive 50-litre integrated storage compartment. That’s because the rear wheel is powered by a hub motor, which leaves a lot of space for your knick-knacks. Fuell offers the bike in two variants: Flow-1 (11kW, A1-compliant) and Flow 1-S (35kW, A1-compliant). Both versions have a range of 125 miles (around 200km) and can be charged in about 30 minutes using a CCS 2.0 (Combined Charging System), which is one of the most commonly used DC fast-charging points in developed countries. Priced from $10,995 (approximately Rs 7.79 lakh), the Flow seems to be a bit too expensive for the kind of performance it offers. However, the company hasn’t revealed the torque figure yet. We believe it could be the equivalent of a typical Harley-Davidson cruiser, which puts out around 140Nm.

The Fluid, on the other hand, is an electric hard-tail bicycle with twin 980Wh lithium-ion batteries. Consequently, the range is also really commendable, at about 200km! Plus, you can also remove the batteries and charge it indoors. The company has used internal hub gears and a carbon belt drive for maximum reliability too. There will be two variants are on offer: Fluid-1, with a top speed of around 32kmph, and Fluid-1S, that can hit up to 45kmph at full tilt. The former packs a 250W motor while the latter is powered by a 500W unit. Also, the electric motor in both variants produces a massive 100Nm right from the word go. Talk about fun wheelies! At a starting price of $3,295 (about Rs 2.33 lakh), the Fluid is as expensive as most budget petrol-powered performance motorcycles sold in India. But that’s the price you pay for being eco-friendly!

Fuell says the functional prototypes of both the products will be unveiled around March-April this year, and bookings will open in the US market from mid-April onwards. The company says it will start delivering the Fluid to its customers later this year. The Flow, on the other hand, will reach owners by early-2021.
