Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s Vision 2025 is hoping to create three million jobs and Coca-Cola is playing its role in the state government achieving its target.
With business-friendly policies in place, which are promoting manufacturing in the state, Odisha became one of the most sought after destinations by many organisations.
Among 19 major investors who showcased interest, Hindustan Coca-Cola also promised an investment to expand its non-alcoholic plant, by adding the state-of-the-art PET juice line, at Food Park in Khurda that would reach out to 13 states. This upcoming project seeks to create employment for the local people, which will contribute to the larger goals of the state.
Coca-Cola had earlier got an approval in July 2016 to invest Rs. 500 Crore in a plant they’ve owned since the year 2000.
According to Business Standard, to achieve the Vision 2025 the state has aimed to draw investments worth Rs 2.5 lakh crore, primarily in its five thrust sectors with an employment potential of three million. Make in Odisha Conclave was held in December 2016 with its focus on IT and electronics manufacturing, downstream and ancillary, food processing, petroleum, chemicals and petrochemicals and textiles and apparel. Bhubaneshwar has been ranked as the most business-friendly destination by World Bank.
Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Odisha said, “Odisha will see investments as high as Rs. 2.5 Lakh Crores by 2025, creating 30 lakh job opportunities.”
With Bhubaneshwar being ranked as the most business-friendly destination, the growth prospects for the state are abundant, making it the land of opportunities for many more businesses to come. Odisha is truly on its way to be one of the states that has it all.
